Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Boiler Operator to operate and maintain a high-pressure heating plant and boilers at our facility in Newton, MA. The role involves repairs, monitoring, and ensuring safe, compliant operation of plant equipment.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with a technical or vocational engineering diploma; Massachusetts 3rd Class Engineer license is required. Schedule is 32 hours per week, onsite at 2014 Washington Street.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Trade/technical/vocational diploma in engineering preferred.
• Massachusetts 3rd Class Engineer license required; Hoisting Engineer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, repair, and clean power plant equipment.
• Monitor plant operation and adjust as needed.
• Respond to emergencies and equipment breakdowns.
• Read meters and gauges to ensure proper readings and water levels.
• Maintain power plant logs with readings and maintenance performed.
• Test boiler water and manage chemical balance.
