Job summary

Alfred Benesch & Company seeks a Bridge Project Engineer to join our Utah team. The role focuses on leading bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects, mentoring junior staff, and delivering complete design packages with rigorous QC.

Ideal candidates bring 5–10+ years in bridge design, PE Utah or reciprocity, and strong experience with UDOT or municipalities, using Leap Bridge, LUSUS, Midas, and OpenBridge.

Qualifications

BS in Civil Engineering or related field required; MS a plus.
PE License in Utah or reciprocity eligible.
5–10+ years bridge design experience.
Experience with UDOT or municipalities.
Strong planning, budgeting, and scheduling skills.
Proficient in structural design software.

Responsibilities

Lead engineer on bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects.
Mentor junior staff and develop structural team.
Prepare and review structural/geometrical calculations.
Own design calculation files with QC reviews.
Coordinate plans, specs, costs, and pay items per DOT standards.
Collaborate with Project Manager on tasks.
Direct structural designers on design and rehab efforts.
