Job summary

Benesch is seeking a Bridge Project Engineer in Utah to lead a variety of bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects. You will mentor junior staff and help grow the structural team while delivering complete design calculations and construction documents.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering (MS a plus) and a Utah PE license or reciprocity. You will work within a flexible Utah-based setting on projects across the Wasatch Front and Southern Utah.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering (MS a plus).
• PE License in Utah or ability to obtain via reciprocity.
• 5–10+ years of bridge design experience.
• Experience with UDOT and/or municipalities.
• Strong organization and leadership with budget/schedule adherence.
• Proven by delivering complex analysis and designs.
• Ability to assemble complete design packages and construction documents.
• Experience with Leap Bridge, LUSUS, Midas, OpenBridge.
• Excellent communication and client relations skills.
• Team-oriented and able to work in a collaborative environment.
• Digital delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead engineer on bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects.
• Mentor junior staff and develop structural staff.
• Prepare and review structural and geometrical calculations for bridge design.
• Own design calculation files and ensure independent QC reviews.
• Coordinate plans, specs, and pay items per DOT standards.
• Collaborate with Project Manager.
• Lead structural designers on design and rehabilitation projects.
