Job summary

Radisson Plaza Hotel in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a Security Attendant to help ensure guest safety and facility security during events and daily operations. You will greet patrons, guide them to seating areas, restrooms, and ticket offices, and monitor for prohibited items.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, and availability for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. Training on safety protocols and screening equipment is provided.

Responsibilities

• Check tickets and validate with dates; apply wristbands or handstamps as required.
• Direct patrons to seat, ATM, restrooms, Box office, Security, Guests relations, etc.
• Be courteous to all patrons and assist as needed.
• Perform security screening: magnetometer scans, handwand scans, pat downs, bag checks when positioned for events.
• Ensure no outside food or unexplained packages enter the facility during events.
• Monitor alcohol control and no-smoke policy; enforce rules.
• Check Lost and Found area post-event and secure outside doors.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

May include, but not limited to: Check all tickets and make sure they are valid with the right date applying wristbands or handstamps as required per event Direct patrons to seat, ATM, restrooms, Box office, Security, Guests relations, etc Be courteous to ALL patrons Perform Security screening processes; screening techniques of Magnetometer scans, Handwand scans, pat downs, and bag checks when Security has been re-positioned for the event Make sure that no outside food or unexplained packages are admitted into facility during an event Ensure no alcohol leaves the facility Have flashlight available to use when needed Watch section and enforce the NO smoking policy After the event, check in area for lost and found, turn in at office, assure that outside doors are secured
