Job summary

Newton Motor Group in Tennessee seeks an automotive technician to inspect, diagnose and repair dealer-purchased vehicles. You will assist with overflow work and support new vehicle inspections, addressing engines, transmissions, drivability, cooling, brakes, electricals, steering, suspension and HVAC.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• ASE certification preferred.
• GM training/repair experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs per repair order with dealership standards.
• Test components using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle systems: engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC.
• Provide time estimates for additional repairs to Service Manager.
• Maintain a clean work area and assist with overflow work.
• Support with new vehicle prep (PDI).

SUMMARY

This person will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing dealer purchased vehicles, assisting the main shop technicians with overflow, as well as performing new vehicle delivery inspections. Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to, engine, transmission, driveability, cooling system, brake system, electronics, steering, and suspension, and HVAC.

Responsibilities:

• Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards
• Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning
• Communicates directly with the Service Manager so that can be informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Keep a great attitude
• Keep your area and the customer cars clean
• Assist with main shop work overflow
• Assist with completing new vehicle prep. (PDI)

Requirements:

• High School diploma
• Technician experience required
• ASE certification preferred
• GM training/repair experience preferred
• Strong teamwork skills
• Valid automobile insurance
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenanceAbility to identify problems efficiently and accurately
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
