Job summary

Gary Mathews Motors Inc. in Clarksville, TN, is seeking a Certified Service Technician with ASE certification to join our dealer service team. The right candidate will have a strong background as a service technician and ASE credentials.

You will perform repairs on repair orders, diagnose needs, and test drive vehicles using diagnostic tools. We offer competitive pay, benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, and a 401K, with growth opportunities and employee vehicle purchase plans.

Qualifications

• ASE Certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience as a service technician at a dealership is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to learn new technology and repair procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools.
• Produce high quality digital inspections and videos using provided software.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and A/C.
• Communicate with the Service Advisor about additional needed services and provide time estimates.
• Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Perform high quality digital inspections and videos using provided software.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required
• Previous experience at a dealership is preferred
• B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
