Job summary

AutoNation, America’s largest automotive retailer, seeks a Skilled Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance per dealer and factory standards, driving customer loyalty. You’ll coordinate with Parts and Service Advisors to ensure efficient production and clear customer communication.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and documenting work while maintaining tools and keeping up with factory training to ensure safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training (varies by store).
• Attention to detail and accuracy in repairs.
• Strong organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance per repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Communicate regularly with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs as authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and recommend safety improvements.
• Document work on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain inventory of special tools beyond standard shop equipment.
• Keep current with factory bulletins and training classes.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid driver’s license

• A passion for cars and customer service

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.

• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.

• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.

• Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.

• Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.

• Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”

• Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.

• Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What are the requirements for this job?
