Job summary

AutoNation is seeking a Certified Technician in Fremont, CA, to perform vehicle repair and maintenance to dealership and factory standards, while building customer loyalty through trust and reliability.

Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, multi-point inspections, and documenting work while maintaining essential tools and keeping current with factory bulletins. A high school diploma, 2+ years of experience, and automotive training are required for this role.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician preferred.
  • Automotive technical training required and vary by store needs.
  • Attention to detail essential and strong organization skills.
  • Valid in-state driver's license with a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance per repair order, with efficiency and accuracy, per dealership and factory standards.
  • Communicate regularly with Parts Department and Service Advisors to manage production and customer communication.
  • Diagnose causes of malfunctions and perform repairs if authorized by the customer.
  • Conduct multi-point inspections and make appropriate safety and reliability recommendations.
  • Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
  • Maintain inventory of standard tools not normally inventoried by Service as 'special tools.'
  • Keep up with factory bulletins and participate in training classes.
  • Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.

What We’re Looking For:

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
  • Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.
  • Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.
  • Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.
  • Conducting multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations to ensure the safety and reliability of Customer vehicles.
  • Documenting work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
  • Maintaining an inventory of normal Technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as “special tools.”
  • Keeping abreast of factory technical bulletins and participating in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
  • Providing an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty

What are the requirements for this job?

This compensation for this position is between $36.00 to $48.00 per flat rate hour which is a combination of hourly and bonus pay.
