Job summary

AutoNation, one of the nation’s largest automotive retailers, is seeking a Skilled Technician to perform vehicle repair and maintenance while building customer trust in our care and reliability. The role emphasizes sound workmanship, teamwork with parts and service advisors, and ongoing training to stay current with factory standards.

You will diagnose issues, perform repairs with precision, and contribute to a positive customer experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience as automotive technician.
• Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs).
• Attention to detail.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform vehicle repair and/or maintenance as outlined on the repair order, efficiently and accurately per dealer and factory standards to drive loyalty.
• Communicate with Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to manage production and customer communication.
• Diagnose cause of malfunctions and perform repairs if authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections to make appropriate recommendations for safety and reliability.
• Document work performed on each vehicle in the repair order.
• Maintain inventory of personal tools not normally inventoried by the service department as special tools.
• Stay updated on factory bulletins and participate in training classes as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to drive loyalty.

What We’re Looking For:

• Valid driver’s license

• A passion for cars and customer service

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

• Performing vehicle repair and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards, to drive Customer loyalty.

• Communicating with the Parts Department and Service Advisors regularly to effectively manage production and Customer communication.

• Diagnosing the cause of any malfunction and performing repair, if authorized by the Customer.

What are the requirements for this job?

• High School diploma or equivalent

• 2+ years of experience as an automotive technician

• Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs)

• Valid in-state driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record
