Job summary

Rochester Motor Cars in Rochester, MN is seeking a Used Car Manager to oversee the used car inventory, acquire vehicles, and establish pricing based on market conditions and dealership goals.

You will work with the sales team to meet monthly used car sales forecasts, appraise incoming vehicles, manage reconditioning, and stay informed about auction prices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years automotive sales management experience (Used Car Management preferred).
• Knowledge of the local market and auto auctions.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Clean driver’s license and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Maintain used car inventory; manage physical and online listings.
• Meet monthly forecast for used car sales and gross profit.
• Appraise incoming vehicles; oversee cosmetic/mechanical reconditioning.
• Monitor auction activity and prices; attend auctions regularly.
• Establish controls for wholesaling activities.
• Enhance customer satisfaction throughout the purchase process.
• Communicate daily with sales management about targets and inventory.
• Adhere to applicable laws governing retail auto sales.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

USED CAR MANAGER

Department: Sales

Reports to: General Sales Manager

Job Summary: The Used Car Manager oversees the used car inventory, acquires used vehicles for the dealership and establishes pricing based on market conditions and dealership goals.

Salary Range: $72,000 to $120,000

Core Responsibilities:

• Maintain used car inventory; manage physical and online inventory


• Meet monthly forecast for used car sales volume sustaining sufficient gross to meet profit objectives.


• Appraise all incoming used vehicles; ensure that cosmetic and mechanical reconditioning is performed within the dealership’s cost and time limitations


• Keep informed of auto auction activity and prices; attend auctions on a regular basis


• Establish processes and controls wholesaling activities


• Enhance customer satisfaction during the entire purchase experience


• Communicate daily with sales management team regarding anything relevant to used car targets and inventory


• Know and understand the federal, state and local laws which govern retail automotive sale


• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

• 2+ years of Automotive Sales Management experience (USED CAR MANAGEMENT PREFERRED)


• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated


• Knowledge of the local market and auctions


• Excellent customer service and communication skills


• Professional appearance and work ethic


• Ability to work well in a process driven environment


• Clean driver’s license and must be insurable through liability insurance company Physical Demands


• Must be able to remain in stationary position 80%
