Job description

Position Summary

As a Senior Meat Cutter, you will drive sales in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

What you'll do
  1. Be a Team Member: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources, communicate effectively, and develop interpersonal skills for providing excellent customer service. Be flexible to the needs of the business, track goods, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage.
  2. Be an Expert: Maintain in-depth knowledge of various types and seasonality of different meat products, equipment usage, and backroom operations. Provide meat products to members by processing meat according to specifications (cutting, slicing, grinding, wrapping), ensuring compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and inventory management. Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment.
  3. Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Use handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality, always with the member in mind. Adapt to new tools and encourage others to use them.
  4. Be an Owner: Drive business results by ensuring operational excellence, planning for profitability, maintaining a clean and organized work area, ensuring quality standards for high-volume meat products, eliminating waste, and securing fragile or high-shrink merchandise. Assist members with purchasing decisions and ensure merchandise is properly packaged, labeled, and stored.
  5. Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department and club by valuing the member experience in the meat area and modeling high-quality service and products. Execute tasks at the highest level of quality, interact with associates to understand and address roadblocks, and assist in training them for their roles.
  6. Compliance and Collaboration: Follow company policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Implement related action plans, use the Open Door Policy, and collaborate with managers, coworkers, customers, and partners. Prioritize tasks, communicate progress, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Respect the Individual

Embrace differences, create a supportive workplace, and help attract top talent. Work as a team, build trusting relationships, and motivate others through positive communication. Recognize contributions and help develop and mentor colleagues.

Act with Integrity

Maintain high standards of ethics and compliance, model Walmart values, hold yourself and others accountable, and support Walmart’s goal of positive impact. Act selflessly, humbly, and transparently.

Serve our Customers and Members

Deliver results with the customer first in mind. Make decisions based on reliable information, balancing short- and long-term priorities, and considering how your work impacts the team’s ability to fulfill the company's purpose.

Strive for Excellence

Be curious, eager to learn, take calculated risks, and demonstrate resilience. Support continuous improvement, adopt new technologies and skills, and assist others through change.

Benefits

We offer competitive pay, performance bonuses, and benefits such as health coverage, 401(k), stock purchase, paid time off, disability insurance, discounts, military leave pay, and education assistance through Live Better U, which covers tuition, books, and fees for various programs.

The hourly wage range is $19.00 to $26.00, with actual pay meeting or exceeding the minimum wage applicable to the location. Additional premiums may apply based on specific circumstances.
