Job description

Position Summary...

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, including store community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit & Loss) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  2. Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrinkage and achieve sales and profit goals.
  3. Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. Sets clear expectations, provides recognition, and fosters a workplace culture of belonging.
  4. Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives, and measuring progress against goals. Identifies and addresses improvement opportunities.
  5. Ensures compliance with company policies and supports the mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity, utilizing the Open Door Policy and providing guidance on business practices.
  6. Builds high-performing teams by embracing diversity, creating a supportive environment, and promoting a culture of belonging. Attracts, develops, and retains talent, recognizing contributions and accomplishments.
  7. Acts with integrity by maintaining high standards of ethics and compliance, modeling Walmart values, and supporting a positive culture.
  8. Delivers excellent customer service by making decisions based on data insights, balancing priorities, and considering all stakeholders.
  9. Encourages continuous improvement, adopts new technologies, and supports change to foster a culture of excellence.
Minimum Qualifications

2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For facilities selling only ammunition with specific state requirements, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and complete all required training and assessments.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, and experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
