Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. is seeking an Associate Director, Site Payment Operations, to lead U.S. site payment execution within Regional Operations.

You will oversee day-to-day delivery, controls, and workforce coordination to ensure accurate and timely payments to clinical trial sites, while shaping global priorities under the Head of Site Payment Operations. You will partner with Site Budgets & Payments Operational Excellence, regional teams, IT, Finance and Tax to implement changes and drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (scientific, business, or related discipline preferred).
• Five+ years in clinical research in pharma/biotech with site payments or related operations.
• Ability to lead operational teams, manage capacity and performance, and deliver reliable service outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead U.S. site payment execution and translate global direction into day-to-day operations.
• Own U.S. delivery performance across teams including timeliness, accuracy, backlog, and controls.
• Ensure integrity of payment operations across systems, including reconciliations and exception management.
• Lead, coach, and coordinate payment operations teams with clear accountabilities and workload priorities.
• Monitor data, service measures, and stakeholder feedback to identify and address performance variations.
