Job summary

Templafy is seeking a US Payroll Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis, working approximately 20 or more hours per week. You will manage the US payroll process and partner closely with People+ and Finance to ensure payroll is accurate, compliant, and processed on time.

The role covers end-to-end payroll, changes, tax filings, benefits administration, and year-end reporting, with a focus on multi-state compliance and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Experience managing US payroll across multiple states.
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxes, wage and hour requirements, and year-end reporting.
• Experience with a major US payroll platform; ADP experience preferred.
• Strong reconciliation skills and experience partnering with Finance and People/HR teams.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet firm payroll deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end US payroll process, including regular and off-cycle payrolls.
• Process payroll changes related to new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
• Review payroll inputs, validate calculations, and approve payroll for processing.
• Coordinate with our payroll provider on federal, state, and local payroll tax filings, registrations, notices, and corrections.
• Administer payroll-related benefits and deductions in partnership with the People+ team and benefits providers.
• Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger and support month-end close activities.
• Support payroll audits and year-end reporting, including Forms W-2.
• Respond to employee payroll questions promptly, accurately, and confidentially.
• Maintain payroll procedures and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll accuracy, controls, processes, and efficiency.
