Job summary

Abacus Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our remote team supporting clients across multiple jurisdictions in the United States. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing, review data for accuracy, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

You will administer payroll changes, coordinate with HR and benefits providers, and drive process improvements and automation. A strong ADP Workforce Now background is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• 3+ years of progressive payroll experience with strong knowledge of payroll processing and compliance.
• Knowledge of payroll tax filings, year-end reporting, wage and hour requirements, and payroll accounting.
• Recent ADP Workforce Now experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for employees across multiple pay cycles and jurisdictions.
• Review payroll data, earnings, deductions, taxes, and adjustments to ensure accurate and timely payments.
• Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Reconcile payroll accounts and investigate discrepancies between payroll, HR, and general ledger records.
• Coordinate payroll tax filings, year-end reporting, audits, and related compliance requirements.
• Administer payroll changes including new hires, terminations, promotions, compensation updates, and benefit deductions.
• Partner with HR, Finance, benefits providers, and payroll vendors to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Develop payroll procedures, documentation, and controls while supporting process improvements and automation.
