Job summary

Rippling is seeking a subject matter expert in US payroll and tax compliance. In this role, you will work directly with our R&D teams to define and pressure test software requirements for Rippling’s US payroll product and internal tooling.

You will own payroll compliance across assigned states, drive audits, and collaborate with Rippling’s Tax Operations team to ensure the system remains compliant with changing laws across the nation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in payroll tax and compliance positions.
• Experience collaborating with US federal, state, and local tax agencies.
• Strong research, communication, and project management skills.
• Experience building payroll software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define product requirements to meet payroll/tax regulatory changes.
• Define and execute audit processes to validate payroll calculations and compliance.
• Document and communicate regulatory requirements to internal stakeholders.
• Proactively research and stay up to date with payroll tax regulations.
• Be Rippling’s liaison with federal, state and local tax agencies.
• Own payroll compliance functions for assigned states.
