Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Long/Short Equity Research Analyst focused on Financials in New York City. You will work directly with a distinguished Portfolio Manager on an established Global Financials strategy.

This expansion hire covers the US Financials market with flexible sector coverage; conduct fundamental, bottom-up research and develop differentiated long/short ideas. You will collaborate on idea generation, portfolio positioning, and ongoing investment diligence within a lean team.

Qualifications

Buyside equity research experience with a focus on Financials.
Strong fundamental research and stock-picking skills.
Existing coverage of the US market.
Buy-side experience preferred; exceptional sell-side profiles considered.
Ability to independently generate and underwrite actionable long/short ideas.
Sector expertise within Financials, excluding REITs.

Responsibilities

Conduct fundamental, bottom-up research across US Financials.
Develop differentiated investment ideas on long and short sides.
Work with Portfolio Manager on idea generation, portfolio positioning and due diligence.
Join a small, established team where research can impact the portfolio.
Benefit from the infrastructure and resources of a $15bn+ platform.
