Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Customs Operations Specialist to manage inbound US customs processes, ensure regulatory compliance and optimize clearance activities. You will work with brokers, verify HS/HTS classifications, and prepare SAP GTS instructions to support timely cargo release.

You will review documentation, monitor performance, and drive improvements across trade compliance and entry processes within a global supply chain.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of customs laws and HS codes, Incoterms and broker coordination.
• 5+ years’ experience managing international inbound customs operations.
• Experience reviewing import documentation, customs entries and trade compliance.
• Experience preparing customs instructions and working within customs processes.
• Experience using SAP S/4HANA incl. GTS and TM modules.
• CCS or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead inbound customs operations for shipments into the United States.
• Review import documents for compliance with laws and Section 232 requirements.
• Coordinate with customs brokers to prepare entries and cargo release.
• Verify shipping docs, HS/HTS classifications and trade information.
• Prepare customs instructions in SAP GTS per internal requirements.
• Support audits and manage follow-up with brokers.
• Produce KPI reports to monitor performance and savings.
