Job summary
Hitachi Energy is seeking a Customs Operations Specialist to lead inbound US customs activities, ensuring documentation validity and compliance with trade laws. You will coordinate with brokers, review HS/HTS classifications, and prepare SAP GTS instructions while driving audits and efficiency improvements.
Applicants should have 5+ years in international inbound customs, deep knowledge of HS codes and Incoterms, and experience with SAP S/4HANA, GTS, and TM modules to support cost-effective,
Qualifications
- 5+ years of international inbound customs operations experience.
- Advanced knowledge of HS codes, Incoterms, Section 232 rules and trade compliance.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA, GTS and TM modules.
Responsibilities
- Lead inbound customs operations for US shipments, managing docs and validation.
- Review documentation for compliance with laws, regs, and Section 232.
- Coordinate with brokers to prepare entries and release cargo.
- Verify HS/HTS classifications and trade compliance information.
- Prepare SAP GTS instructions per internal requirements.
- Support audits and address corrective actions with brokers.
- Produce KPI reports to monitor performance and savings opportunities.
- Investigate delays and implement process improvements.
