Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking an experienced Customs Operations Specialist in the United States to manage inbound import customs activities, ensure compliance, and optimize processes.

You will establish procedures for documentation collection, validate trade compliance, coordinate with brokers, and support entry and cargo release to ensure on-time delivery and cost efficiency. The role requires advanced knowledge of customs laws (including Section 232), HS/HTS classifications, and experience

Qualifications

• Candidate must have work authorization to work in the United States.
• Advanced knowledge of customs laws and regulations including HS codes, Incoterms, customs procedures and Section 232 regulations.
• 5+ years of experience managing international inbound customs operations and customs broker relationships.
• Experience reviewing import documentation, customs entries, and trade compliance requirements.
• Experience using SAP S/4HANA, including GTS and TM modules.
• CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead inbound customs operations for US shipments.
• Review documentation for compliance with customs laws, regulations, and Section 232 requirements.
• Coordinate with customs brokers to prepare customs entries and facilitate cargo release.
• Verify shipping documentation, including HS/HTS classifications and trade compliance information.
• Prepare customs instructions in SAP GTS according to internal requirements.
• Support customs entry audits and manage follow-up actions with brokers.
• Prepare customs operation reports and KPI metrics to monitor performance.
• Investigate customs-related delays and implement improvements to reduce delivery impacts and costs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
