Immediate Supervisor: Manufacturing Manager

Status: Hourly

Position Description: The Coating Machine Operator is responsible for performing assigned tasks in the manufacturing department according to process requirements. They must work in a safe, productive, efficient, and quality-conscious manner on all tasks. The employee must be self-motivated, cooperative, and have excellent attendance. They must follow all work rules and utilize critical reasoning skills when solving problems affecting safety, quality, and productivity.

Principle Accountabilities:

• Participate actively in Blythewood Plant Safety Program and complete safety training.
• Follow all safety procedures in the area.
• Operate material handling devices and handle materials properly.
• Operate machinery, monitor materials and equipment to ensure quality production.
• Collect data and maintain accurate records.
• Perform in-process quality testing.
• Understand production specifications and quality requirements.
• Manage change-overs, start-up, monitor, and adjust operating conditions to maintain standards.
• Produce products that meet quality and production rate requirements.
• Use measuring and weighing tools accurately.
• Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubricating, adjustments, and minor repairs.
• Complete hazardous waste handling training and ensure proper labeling and sealing of waste containers.
• Perform related tasks as requested by the supervisor.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent, with basic math, communication skills.
• Manufacturing experience in coating, web handling, or extrusion preferred.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Familiarity with metric measures and volumes.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb stairs, walk, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in high humidity and temperature environments.
• Availability to work any shift, including overtime.
• Complete annual safety and OSHA training.
• Participate in problem-solving teams as needed.
