Job summary

Central Ohio Urology Group is seeking a Lead Patient Access Representative to oversee front-desk operations, train staff, and ensure smooth scheduling and patient flow. You will handle check-in/out, insurance verification, and patient payments, while coaching PARs in sensitive interactions.

The role requires leadership, high emotional intelligence, and strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems and scheduling platforms to support complex urology workflows. This is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher preferred.
• Three to five years of medical front-office experience preferred.
• Prior lead or mentoring experience preferred.
• Knowledge of urology procedures, terminology, and insurance/prior authorization requirements.
• High emotional intelligence and discretion in handling sensitive patient situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform all Patient Access Representative duties: check-in/check-out, scheduling visits and procedures, insurance verification, and collecting patient payments.
• Provide compassionate, discreet service for patients with sensitive urologic conditions.
• Serve as front-line escalation resource for PARs on patient concerns, complex scheduling, or insurance questions.
• Train and onboard new PARs on front desk workflows, procedures, and terminology; coach in real time.
• Build and maintain PAR schedules; flag staffing gaps and coordinate PTO with Practice Manager.
• Oversee daily front-desk operations and ensure efficient patient flow for office visits and procedures.
• Coordinate complex scheduling templates involving providers, rooms, equipment, and prep requirements.
• Support prior authorization workflows for imaging, procedures, and specialty medications.
• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks; ensure HIPAA privacy standards and audits.
