American Veterinary Group's UrgentVet Hospitals in Midlothian seeks a Full-Time Urgent Care Shift Lead to supervise patient care, client service, and staff across shifts in a fast-paced clinic.

You will perform senior assistant/technician duties, coordinate paraprofessional staff, and support hospital goals with the Practice Manager and Lead DVM, ensuring clear communication and efficient operations. This on-site role requires lifting up to 40 lbs and a strong commitment to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Two years of healthcare, veterinary, or service industry experience.
• Medical background with terminology training.
• Associate degree or veterinary technician certification/licensure preferred.
• Six months of prior management experience strongly preferred.
• Animal handling experience including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
• Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership across shifts, supervise staff, and support hospital goals.
• Coordinate paraprofessional staff to ensure efficient patient flow and care quality.
• Direct cases to appropriate team members and resolve bottlenecks in operations.
• Support client resolution decisions and maintain high levels of client service.
