Job summary

VillageMD, a physician-led urgent care network, is hiring a Scribe Tech to document patient visits in the EMR accurately and promptly. You will support physicians with basic patient care and assist site managers with patient flow and lab follow-ups in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include ensuring DOH-compliant labs, escorting patients to exam rooms, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment while delivering outstanding customer service to patients.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required; college degree a plus.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assisting program and/or phlebotomy certification a plus; training provided.
• Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner.
• Flexible with full-time schedule including a weekend day.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• English language skills required; bilingual preferred depending on site.
• High attention to detail; strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with third-party payor requirements preferred.

Responsibilities

• Capture accurate documentation of patient visits into the EMR in a timely manner.
• Assist physician with basic patient care and medical procedures.
• Help site managers with patient flow, inventory, and lab follow-ups.
• Ensure lab and exam room DOH compliance; maintain logs and proper handling of specimens.
• Provide compassionate customer service and adhere to protocols while managing high patient volume.
