Job summary

VillageMD in New York is seeking a Scribe Tech to capture accurate documentation of patient visits in the EMR and support physicians with basic care in a fast-paced urgent care environment.

You will help manage patient flow, assist with labs and DOH compliance, and deliver compassionate customer service while maintaining quality. This role is ideal for candidates pursuing CNA, MA, EMT, or Paramedic paths and offers exposure to healthcare operations.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED; undergraduate degree a plus.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program and/or phlebotomy certifications preferred.
• Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner.
• Flexible with full-time schedule including a weekend day.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• English language skills required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of third-party payor requirements preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician with basic patient care and medical procedures.
• Assist site management with directing patient flow, inventory, and lab follow-up.
• Ensure DOH lab compliance and proper logbook maintenance.
• Escort patients to exam rooms and imaging facilities.
• Maintain a fast pace in a busy urgent care environment.
• Facilitate diagnostic tests and referrals via Aftercare.
• Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians under physician guidance.
• Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional environment.
• Ensure the site is stocked with supplies.
• Provide compassionate patient care.
