Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Scribe for our physician-led urgent care network in New Jersey. You will capture accurate documentation of patient visits in the EMR, assist physicians with basic care, and help manage patient flow and lab follow-ups to ensure smooth operations.

The role emphasizes strong communication, attention to detail, and compassionate patient care. This is a full-time on-site position with weekend shifts, and BLS certification is required at hire.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED; undergraduate degree a plus.
• Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner.
• Flexible with full-time work schedule including a weekend day.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• English language (speaking and writing) skills required.
• Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on-site location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational, problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Computer Proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures.
• Ensure DOH compliance of site lab and exam rooms.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, x-rays or other facilities on site as needed.
• Maintain a quick pace in fast paced urgent care facility for the duration of scheduled shift (8-12 hours).
• Facilitate diagnostic tests and referrals to medical specialists for follow-up care via Aftercare.
• Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance.
• Help maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment.
• Ensure the site is fully stocked with supplies.
• Provide compassionate care to our patients.
