Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Scribe Tech to capture accurate documentation of patient visits into the EMR and assist physicians with basic care in a fast-paced urgent care setting. Training will be provided for those pursuing CNA, MA, EMT, or Paramedic careers, offering excellent resume-building exposure to healthcare.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; healthcare training is a plus.
• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assisting program and/or phlebotomy certifications; training provided.
• Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner.
• Flexible with full-time schedule including a weekend day.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• English language skills required (speaking and writing).
• Bilingual language skills preferred based on site location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Document patient visits accurately in the EMR; assist physicians with basic care and procedures.
• Assist site management with patient flow, labs, and inventory.
• Ensure site lab compliance with DOH regulations.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, x-rays, and other facilities as needed.
• Maintain a fast pace in a busy urgent care environment.
• Facilitate diagnostic tests and referrals via Aftercare.
• Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians under physician guidance.
• Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional environment; ensure supplies are stocked.
