Job summary

The Iowa Clinic is seeking a Practice Manager in Urgent Care to oversee multiple sites (West Des Moines, Waukee, Ankeny) and partner with physicians and administrative leaders to deliver high-quality, cost-effective services.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of supervisory experience in a medical setting. You will lead staff, ensure compliance with laws, and participate in strategic planning while fostering a professional image.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or health care related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years previous supervisory experience in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages, coordinates and directs the overall operational activities of assigned department(s) including multiple site locations. (West Des Moines, Waukee, Ankeny)
• Works closely with the physicians and administrative directors in assuming accountability for maintaining high-quality cost-effective services.
• Hires, orients, supervises, evaluates performance, disciplines and terminates staff.
• Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations affecting the clinic and assures compliance.
• Participates in strategic and long-range planning.
• Promotes a positive, professional image of the organization internally and externally.
• Assumes accountability for enhancing own knowledge through professional associations, journals, workshops, in-services, etc. to pro-actively keep updated on potential issues affecting the clinic.
• Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations and remains current on changes.
• Recognizes implications of applicable laws and/or regulations to the clinic and implements or recommends courses of action to ensure compliance.
