Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Michigan is seeking an Office Coordinator to oversee assigned office areas in collaboration with the Practice Manager, ensuring smooth patient flow and exceptional care at the EMU and Saline Urgent Care locations.

The role includes supervising daily operations, staff recruitment and training, managing scheduling and performance, and acting as a liaison between patients and providers to improve processes and patient experience.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent with coursework in management/supervision.
• Prefer associate or bachelor’s degree in Management or Healthcare Administration.
• Credential/licensure: Medical Assistant credentials for staff training (CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA/CMAC).
• Minimum 3–5 years in a Medical Office with Reception or Cross-Trained Medical Assisting duties; supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned areas.
• Manage complex patient reception/medical records problems or insurance issues.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance the customer experience.
• Assist with recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and coaching of staff.
• Maintain scheduling, time and attendance for staff.
• Evaluate staff performance; recommend promotions or disciplinary actions.
• Coordinate care and serve as liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.
