Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care - Wethersfield, CT is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinicians, manage check-in, and perform vital signs and phlebotomy. This role prepares exam rooms and coordinates care with urgent care staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; Medical Assisting Program graduate preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire; MA certifications preferred or required.
• Experience as Medical Assistant and Front Desk is preferred; ability to perform phlebotomy and vitals.
• CPOE/order entry knowledge or certification is a plus; strong communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Register patients, verify insurance and collect demographics.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments; coordinate referrals.
• Take vitals, perform point-of-care testing, and prepare exam rooms.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis; maintain records.
• Maintain supplies, assist providers, and communicate with patients clearly.
