Job summary

Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care in Connecticut is seeking a Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations. You will handle patient check-in, vital signs, phlebotomy specimen preparation, and room preparation under provider direction.

Requirements include a high school diploma, MA program preferred, BLS, and MA-related certifications. Opportunities for growth and a sign-on bonus are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred
• Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Front Desk experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire
• CPOE certification within two weeks of start date
• Graduate of Nursing/LPN/RN or EMT/CNA acceptable in lieu of MA certification

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments
• Coordinate referrals to specialists
• Prepare patients for examination and obtain medical history
• Perform basic vital signs and point-of-care testing as needed
• Maintain medical records and documentation
• Restock supplies and maintain exam rooms and reception areas
