Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Connecticut is seeking a Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations. You will assist in examinations, manage check-in流程, collect vital signs, draw and prepare specimens, and prep exam rooms under supervision of an urgent care provider.

The role requires a High School Diploma and MA program completion; certifications such as CMA/CCMA/RMA are preferred. BLS is required; prior front desk experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred
• Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Front Desk experience preferred
• BLS required at hire (ARC or AHA)
• CPOE certification within two weeks of start date

Responsibilities

• Register patients, verify paperwork and insurance
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments
• Coordinate referrals to specialists
• Inform patients of status and questions
• Prepare patients for examination and collect vital signs
• Perform point-of-care testing
• Stock supplies and maintain exam areas
• Manage medical records and chart scanning
• Answer calls and manage mail
• Open/close procedures and cash handling
