GoHealth Urgent Care in Vernon, CT is hiring a Medical Assistant to support urgent care providers. Responsibilities include patient check-in, vitals, sample collection, and assisting with point-of-care testing.

The position requires a High School Diploma; Medical Assisting Program is preferred. BLS is required at hire, with certification options listed. A sign-on bonus of up to $3,500 is available for external candidates.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire.
• One of the MA certifications: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA or equivalent; or 1+ year MA experience with alternative credentials.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance information.
• Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments.
• Coordinate provider referrals to specialists.
• Perform point-of-care testing as needed (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG).
• Maintain exam rooms, front desk, and supply inventory.
