Job summary

Mercy-GoHealth Urgent Care in Connecticut seeks a Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations. You will assist providers, manage registrations, collect co-pays, and help ensure a smooth patient flow, including point of care testing and phlebotomy as needed.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Assistant program credential, MA experience, and BLS certification. Certifications such as CMA/CCMA/RMA/NCMA/NRCMA are valued, with CPOE certification required within two weeks of start date.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Minimum Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• CPOE certification required within two weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Answer patient questions regarding care and status.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist providers.
• Conduct point of care testing as needed (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, hCG).
• Maintain supplies and exam rooms, and manage medical records.
