Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care in Connecticut is seeking a Medical Assistant to support urgent care operations under the direction of a provider. You will manage check-in, record vital signs, draw blood as needed, and prepare exam rooms for patient visits.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, preferred Graduation from a Medical Assisting Program, and Front Desk experience. BLS is required at hire; MA certification must be obtained within 15 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Front Desk experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire.
• 1+ years Medical Assistant or front desk experience desired.
• Must obtain MA Certification within 15 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Answer questions and inform patients of status.
• Prepare patients for examination and take vital signs.
• Perform point of care testing as needed.
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms and reception area.
• Maintain medical records and scan charts to files.
• Open/close duties including cash handling and security.
