GoHealth Urgent Care in Ballwin, MO seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers, radiologic technologists, and patients across patient care management, organization, and communication. Ideal candidates have MA program training and current BLS certification, with 1+ year experience; HS diploma or equivalent

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred
• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience under a licensed healthcare supervisor within the last 3 years preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience under a licensed healthcare supervisor in lieu of a MA program preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology strongly preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire (ARC or AHA)

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient registration, secure paperwork and verify insurance eligibility
• Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments
• Coordinate provider referrals to Specialists
• Answer patient questions and keep them informed of status
• Prepare patients for examination and record medical history
• Perform preliminary physical tests and escalate critical cases
• Conduct point of care testing (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG)
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms and reception area
• Maintain supply inventory and check expiration dates
• Maintain medical records and scan charts
• Answer calls and manage mail
• Ensure reception is well maintained
• Follow daily controls and calibration logs for equipment
• All other duties as assigned
