Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care in Lawrence, KS is seeking a energetic Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced, team-oriented clinic. You will support providers with exams, administer medications, perform vitals, blood draws, and help keep patient flow smooth.

You should have a high school diploma or GED and completed an accredited Medical Assistant program; national certification (CMA/AMT/CCMA) is required or equivalent experience. Proficiency with EMR/EHR and a customer-focused approach are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED and complete an approved Medical Assistant training program.
• National certification through CMA/AMT/CCMA or equivalent experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams (including patient vitals) and procedures.
• Administers medications per policy and direction, following safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws and may collect urine samples for testing.
• May assist with splinting, casting, and physicals as needed.
• Ensures proficiency in EMR/EHR and maintains patient flow in urgent care.
