Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support providers in exams, administer medications, and perform basic clinical tasks in a fast-paced urgent care setting. The position emphasizes patient care, vitals, labs, and front/back office coordination.

Education requires a high school diploma and an approved MA program, with alternative certification routes (CMA/AMT/NHA) for unapproved programs. This is a full-time, on-site role supporting a busy clinical team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• If using an unapproved program, certification through CMA/AMT/NHA is required.
• For all other states, same basic education: diploma plus approved MA program or certification path.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams and patient care under supervision.
• Administers medications per policy and direction; adheres to safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws and may collect urine samples for testing.
• May perform splinting, casting and sports physicals.
• Notifies provider of unusual patient occurrences and safety concerns.
• Proficient in EMR/EHR and other clinic duties as assigned.
