Job summary

Carbon Health Technologies Inc in Howell, NJ is hiring a Medical Assistant for full-time, on-site work in a fast-paced urgent care setting. You'll support both front and back office tasks, perform venipuncture, document in the EHR, and assist providers with exams while ensuring patient comfort and safety.

You must complete an accredited MA program, hold MA certification, and obtain BAT and DOT certs within the required timeframe.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• Current Medical Assistant certification or eligibility to obtain within policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical duties including rooming patients, taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and assisting providers with exams and procedures.
• Perform venipuncture and collect other laboratory specimens according to established protocols and safety standards.
• Support back office responsibilities such as medication administration per provider orders, point-of-care testing, and specimen handling.
• Handle front office duties including patient check-in and check-out, appointment scheduling, verifying insurance, and collecting co-pays.
• Provide responsive support in an urgent care environment, helping prioritize patients based on acuity and assisting with time-sensitive procedures.
• Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative staff to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient clinic operations.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) in accordance with practice policies and regulatory requirements.
• Follow infection control, safety, and quality protocols to maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.
