Job summary

Carbon Health in New Jersey is seeking a dedicated Primary Care Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced urgent care team. You will take vitals, room patients, assist with procedures, and manage front desk duties, contributing to safe, efficient patient care in a paperless environment.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a certified Medical Assistant program, current BLS, and a willingness to obtain DOT certification; 1+ year MA experience and phlebotomy skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant program required (DOT exemptions as allowed by law).
• Current BLS certification; willingness to obtain DOT certification.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, patient history and triage.
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care.
• Administer meds via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes; perform ear lavages; run EKGs.
• Conduct lab testing (urinalysis, urine pregnancy, glucose, rapid tests).
• Manage front desk and receptionist duties as needed.
• Complete training to obtain DOT Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.
