Novant Health–GoHealth Urgent Care in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant Float to support providers in urgent care, manage patient intake and front desk operations, and ensure a safe, efficient patient flow.

The role requires a High School Diploma (MA program preferred), at least 1 year MA experience, BLS, and MA certification alternatives for eligible candidates. Competitive benefits and monthly incentive pay accompany this position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent — Required
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program — Preferred

Responsibilities

• Register patients, collect paperwork and insurance information
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments
• Coordinate referrals to specialists
• Prepare patients for examination and document medical history
• Record vital signs and perform point-of-care testing
• Draw blood specimens and process lab samples
• Maintain exam rooms and manage supplies
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Answer phones and manage reception area
• Conduct patient follow-up courtesy calls
• Open/close duties including cash handling and end-of-day reconciliation
• Perform daily equipment checks and report repairs
• Adhere to clinical, safety, and organizational policies
