Job summary

The Medical Assistant role at Inova-GoHealth Urgent Care, Gainesville, VA is an hourly position with shift options from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM. You will support both clinical and front desk operations to ensure efficient patient flow and a welcoming experience.

Responsibilities include patient registration, vital signs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and accurate documentation. BLS is required at hire, MA certification or equivalent is preferred; benefits include health insurance,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience is preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire (AHA or ARC).
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting program is preferred and certification within 12 months of hire if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographic, insurance, and eligibility information.
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling.
• Obtain medical history and document accurately in the medical record.
• Measure and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, height, weight).
• Perform point-of-care testing and report results to providers.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Maintain exam rooms and support front desk responsibilities, including phone management.
