American Family Care (AFC) is hiring a Medical Assistant for our Mount Juliet, TN centers. You will greet and triage patients, collect vitals, perform venipuncture and CLIA-waived tests, and assist with minor procedures and EKGs.

Strong insurance verification and patient registration experience are required along with EMR proficiency (Experity preferred). Join a fast-paced urgent care environment with a focus on compassionate patient care, compliance, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire.
• At least 1+ year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration.
• Current BLS certification (or ability to obtain before starting).
• Urgent care or emergency room experience highly valued.
• EMR proficiency (Experity preferred); comfort with payer portals (e.g., Waystar).
• Proven venipuncture and specimen collection skills.

Responsabilités

• Greet and triage patients, collect vitals/history, venipuncture and CRLA-waived testing; assist with minor procedures, wound care, EKGs and nebulizer therapy.
• Register patients, verify insurance eligibility, determine financial responsibility, collect co-pays, reconcile payment logs, and maintain EMR accuracy.
• Educate patients on procedures and financial expectations; provide clear discharge instructions and empathetic, professional communication.
• Participate in daily huddles, maintain compliance logs (crash cart, fridge temps, etc.), support infection control and HIPAA standards.
• Float to nearby centers as needed to cover shifts.
