American Family Care is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant in Mount Juliet, TN to greet patients, take vitals, perform venipuncture and CLIA-waived tests in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

You will verify insurance, register patients, educate on procedures and costs, maintain EMR accuracy, and support HIPAA compliance while floating to nearby centers as needed. Prior experience in urgent care and proficiency with EMR (Experity) are valued.

Competenze

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire.
• At least 1+ year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration.
• Active BLS certification required or must be obtained within onboarding period.
• Urgent care or emergency room experience valued.
• EMR proficiency (Experity preferred); comfort with payer portals (Waystar).
• Proven venipuncture and specimen collection skills.

Mansioni

• Clinical Care: greet/triage patients, collect vitals/histories, venipuncture, point-of-care testing, wound care, EKGs, nebulizer therapy.
• Insurance Verification & Front Desk: register patients, verify eligibility, determine financial responsibility, collect co-pays, reconcile logs.
• Patient Service: educate patients on procedures and costs, provide discharge instructions, de-escalate concerns with empathy.
• Team & Compliance: participate in huddles, maintain compliance logs, support HIPAA and infection-control standards.
