Job summary

Novant Health–GoHealth Urgent Care in Salisbury, NC seeks a Medical Assistant Float to support providers in urgent care services. You will handle patient intake, clinical procedures, front desk coordination, and patient flow to ensure a safe, efficient experience for every patient.

The role requires a Medical Assisting credential or diploma, at least 1 year MA experience, and BLS certification at hire. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Medical Assistant experience required.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• MA certification options listed: CCMA CMA RMA NCMA NRCMA.
• Flexible pathway if transitioning from nursing or CNA roles.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect insurance information.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Prepare patients for examination and document medical history.
• Perform point‑of‑care testing and report results.
• Draw blood specimens and prepare lab samples.
• Maintain exam rooms and manage supplies.
• Answer phones and maintain a welcoming reception area.
• Handle opening/closing duties and cash reconciliation.
