Job summary

Requirements include graduation from a Medical Assistant program (or one year RN program), urgent care experience preferred, and current BLS certification. Proficiency with vital signs, triage, medication administration, and record-keeping is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program; in lieu of a Medical Assistant course, recent completion of one year formal RN program.
• Urgent care experience preferred.
• Vitals, triage categories, medication administration, splinting, competency in lab and radiology orders, knowledge of medication rotation and record keeping.
• Current BLS card from American Heart Association (AHA).
• Equipment familiarity: EKG machine, blood pressure monitor, otoscope, oxygen tank, stethoscope, nebulizer, glucose meter, thermometer, pulse-oximeter, Omnicell cabinet, computer, copy machine, fax machine, and scanner.
• Must be able to perform the essential physical requirements of the job.
