American Family Care (AFC) is seeking a Medical Assistant to support clinical care, insurance verification, front desk duties, and patient services in a fast-paced urgent care setting in Southington, CT. The role requires completion of an accredited MA program and active national certification, with at least one year of insurance verification and patient registration experience.

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification at hire (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent).
• At least 1+ year of experience with insurance verification and patient registration.

Responsabilidades

• Greet and triage patients; collect vitals and histories; venipuncture; CLIA-waived testing; assist with minor procedures.
• Register patients; verify insurance eligibility; determine financial responsibility; collect co-pays; reconcile payments; maintain EMR accuracy.
• Educate patients on procedures and financial expectations; provide discharge instructions; de-escalate concerns with empathy.
• Participate in daily huddles; maintain compliance logs; support infection-control and HIPAA standards.
