Carbon Health Technologies Inc. is seeking an Urgent Care Medical Assistant to support providers in a fast-paced clinic setting. The role involves direct patient contact, blood draws, injections, EKGs, and medical-record documentation.

Flexible shifts, 12-hour shifts, and weekend rotations are required to ensure smooth patient flow. The ideal candidate has CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certification, CPR/BLS, and solid experience in urgent care or ambulatory care environments.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as Medical Assistant or similar clinical support role, preferably in urgent care, emergency, or ambulatory care.
• CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA certification and CPR/BLS are required.
• Proficient in venipuncture and blood draws with safe technique.
• Proficient in administering injections per provider orders and protocols.
• Capable of obtaining quality EKGs with proper lead placement and troubleshooting.
• Strong patient care skills and professional interaction with patients of all ages.
• Experience with medical records documentation and maintaining confidentiality.
• Excellent phone etiquette and clear communication with patients, providers, and staff.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts including rotating weekends and adapt to changing volumes.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and standard precautions.

Responsibilities

• Greet and room patients, document vitals, histories, and chief complaints in the medical record.
• Perform blood draws (phlebotomy), injections, and EKGs per orders and protocols.
• Prepare patients and exam rooms, maintain supplies and infection control.
• Support providers during exams and minor urgent care procedures.
• Manage medical records and timely documentation of encounters, treatments, and results.
• Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries with professional etiquette.
• Coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times with front desk and staff.
• Perform point-of-care testing as permitted and ensure proper specimen handling.
• Maintain a clean, safe clinical environment and restock rooms between patients.
• Follow clinic policies and safety regulations to protect patients and staff.
