Job summary

IU Health in Lafayette is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both clinical and front-office operations across our Urgent Care locations. You will room patients, obtain vitals, and assist providers while ensuring smooth patient flow.

The role requires a CMA/CCMA-like certification eligibility, a high school diploma or GED, and comfort with cross-training across clinical and registration tasks. Three 12-hour shifts weekly with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant program required.
• 6+ months Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Cross-training in clinical and registration functions.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs.
• Assist providers with patient care.
• Perform clinical procedures within scope.
• Document accurately in the EMR.
• Assist with front desk responsibilities as needed.
• Maintain exam rooms and supplies.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and families.
• Float between Southside and Westside Urgent Care locations.
