The role focuses on verifying coverage, explaining costs, and resolving billing issues while delivering excellent patient service. The position offers full-time hours with a focus on accuracy, empathy, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience with insurance verification and medical billing.
• Ability to explain complex insurance concepts to patients with empathy and clarity.
• Detail-oriented; a single digit error in an insurance ID can cost thousands.
• Experience as Medical Receptionist, Administrative Assistant, or in customer service in a medical office.
• Tech-savvy with medical billing software and EMR systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and able to find billing solutions for patients and clinic.
• Positive attitude in challenging financial conversations.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage before services are provided and prevent claim denials.
• Explain costs and billing processes clearly to patients.
• Identify and resolve insurance discrepancies and billing issues before they impact revenue.
• Deliver exceptional service during financial conversations to keep patients satisfied.
• Greet patients with warmth and professionalism as the face of AFC.
• Process payments, schedule appointments and manage patient check-ins efficiently.
• Maintain HIPAA-compliant, organized patient records.
